Alicia is the oldest South American Sea Lion in the U.S. and she gets extra TLC from all her trainers. Being the oldest definitely has its privileges. 2008 marked the end of Alicia’s performing career. She has retired from the Sea Lion Splash Show, but she still makes cameo appearances every once in a while. Her size alone makes crowds “oh” and “aw”. She is a 300 pound voluptuous lady. Often called the lover of the group, Alicia shows her trainers affection by giving them kisses and rubbing her muzzle all over them, leaving them smelling like fish. Her sweetness is also seen as she shows the California girls how to work the crowd and the trainer.

Zoey

Zoey washed up on the shore of California all by herself, when she was a tiny pup. She was nursed back to health and has been part of the Squalus family ever since. She has grown to be one of the stars of Sea Lion Splash Show. She has a very playful side that comes out not only in the shows, but in everyday activities as well. Zoey uses her baby status to get cheers from the crowd and fish from her trainer. If she doesn’t catch the Frisbee, she’ll jump down and get it, just to prove she’s trying hard. When she’s not learning new behaviors, one of her favorite toys to play with is her orange cone. She will swim around the pool with it on head and throw it back forth. As the baby of our herd, she can often be seen mimicking her partner in crime, Spark.

Sparky

Often referred to as Sparky girl, Spark, or “The one sticking her tongue out”, she is definitely the star of the show. She wins the crowd over by shaking her hips and getting the best of her trainers. When she does get in trouble, she simply smiles her way out of it. She is a talented artist that not only paints the canvas, but gets it all over her trainer as well. She loves to chase the water hose and figure out new ways to steal fish. Spark is one of our smartest sea lions, and she definitely knows it.

Stella

6 years

This beautiful sea lion came joined the family as a rescue. She was found on the shore of Puerto Rico on June 20, 2006 weighing on 50 pounds. She was nursed back to health and arrived at our home base in South Florida in late March 2007. She is now a happy 250 pound healthy girl. She has beat the odds and is now a star performer at the Sea Lion Splash Show in Valdosta Georgia and select fairs throughout the country.

Rose

Rose is full of energy and smart as they come. She shows her environmental side during the show, by teaching the crowd how to recycle. At home she can often be seen stretched out on a lawn chair while basking in the sun.

Kim

Type:

Age:

4 years

Don't get to close to this one, or she'll love you to death. Kim acts more like a puppy than a sea lion. Her sweet and cuddling nature makes her a crowd favorite. She enjoys picture time the most, because that's when she gets up close with people and can give them lots of kisses.

Bruce

Being the only male in the family has its advantages. Bruce performs 6 months out of the year in Hershey Park Pennslyvania, then returns to Myakka in the winter, where he is greeted by seven girls who have missed him. Plans for Bruce's future include a breeding program with 4 of our females.

Kitty

She is a delightful in her role as a detective. She picks up very quickly on new behaviors and loves performing with Bruce and Aubry.
