There are two different types of Sea Lions: Pategonian Sea Lion and the California Sea Lion.

Our family of sea lions has taken on the roles of a multi-generational family. Each sea lion, similar to humans, have behaviors and personalities that make them unique and special within the family dynamic.

Alicia

Type:

Pategonian Sea Lion

Alicia

Age:

26 years

The matriarch of the family, Alicia is noticeably patient and tolerant while taking on the role of grandmother to the three other female sea lions. Due to cataracts in her eyes, Alicia sometimes moves a bit slower than the others, but doesn't let it get in the way of having fun! Her favorite trick is to stick her tongue out at Marco.

Minnie

Type:

Pategonian Sea Lion

Minnie

Age:

26 years

The "alpha" of the group, Minnie tends to be domineering and enjoys showing off her skills to the younger sea lions. Her mothering tendencies can be witnessed when she reprimands the younger sea lions with a bark. You'll notice Minnie by the trademark white spot on her left chin.

Sparky

Type:

California Sea Lion

Sparky

Age:

2 years

One of the two youngest Sea Lions in the group, at two years old, Sparky is full of energy and loves to play. With two ears that stick out, Sparky's got a unique look all her own, which seems to match her curious personality. She is often stealing items from the stage to play with in the pool.

Aerial

Type:

California Sea Lion

Aerial

Age:

2 years

As the other California Sea Lion in the group, Aerial is further along in her training than Sparky. She has many talents from tossing Frisbees to flipping through the water with ease and she enjoys showing off her skills in front of a crowd. She is a quick study and has learned many new tricks that are incorporated into the show.
